Leona and the Animals
Blogged by James Preece on 20th August 2007
It is, I will admit, a bit unorthodox to visit a museum on the morning of your friends wedding in the rain when all sensible folk are getting suits on and combing hair. Ella and I needed to go in to Exeter to visit the bead shop to buy beads and wire and books and bead boxes. There is a lot more to beads than you might think.
Alas, We got in to Exeter city centre a little early. We set of at 8:30am and arrived before 9am. By the time we walked to the arcade where the bead shop resides we were soaked. To add insult to injury it turns out the bead shop opens at 10am. No matter. We walked over (in increasingly heavy rain) to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Closed. Opens 10am. By now it was about 9:10am.
How we passed that 50 minutes I don't know. The rain was torrential so we hid in shopping centres, we were already too wet to stop for a tea (nobody likes putting wet coats back on) so we just kept walking. Eventually, 10am arrived. We got to the bead shop. Closed.
10:05am. Closed.

10:10am we are about to give up. A lady arrives. The shop opens. She was delayed by the rain. Ella somehow mananged to spend a whole half hour in that bead shop. There's more to beads than you might think.
Anyway, we finally made it out of the bead shop and got to the museum. Leona met the animanimals.

Leona likes giraffes. Giraffes are tall.

Leona tried to blend in the the tiger.

Ella is worried that this might be seen as child abuse.

Ella says this is horrific.
The animals in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum are all dead and stuffed. No babies were harmed in the making of this blog entry.
