New Baby!
Blogged by James Preece on 24th May 2011
Many thanks to everybody who has been praying for us, we really appreciate it.
It's been a long and difficult pregnancy, Ella has struggled with pain in the pelvic bone and has been housebound for the last few weeks. I've been coming home from work, putting the girls to bed and then doing housework. Washing dishes at 1am is not a happy place to be - but Ella had it worse. She is a hero.
The result is a baby boy, 6lb 12oz born this morning at 6:51am. He shares a birthday with Bob Dylan...
I will skip to the photos (that's what you really want) and then I can get some much needed sleep!!

Good night!

Bloody brilliant news -all God's blessings and graces on you all.
You're all glowing: God is good!
[I'm doing a snoopy dance in glee!]
Adventurous times loom - time for you to be the laughing, loving, tireless hero... [we had three under three so don't think I'm not going to share the scars and give advice ad nauseam]
ALL of you need to rest - seriously - prioritise what needs to be done and ritualise everything else [bit-by-bit every day - so you never have an overly tough day or an overly easy day]- yes the girls are young but they'll really benefit from helping you and mummy - even if only in little ways. There is no time more important than now in making sure every one of you knows that you're loved...make it gentle:make it fun!
Try to smile - or at least laugh in resignation to the craziness of it all...
Two things which got us through:
a] a big video/DVD collection with long tv series to stop us getting bored, to pre-occupy/distract us in weird sleeples hours [and help us to get to sleep] - plus it gives extra subjects to discuss in all the extra time you'll spend together
b] Haribo!!!Army route-marchers swear by them - keeping the blood-sugar levels high made me more alert, more thoughtful and clear-headed and more pleasant.
Prayers and the best of wishes by the bundle...a baby's a new universe - and suddenly all your hearts have got so much bigger - but get some bloody rest while you can!!!
Can't stop smiling...brilliant news!!!

GOD! BLESS THIS BABY BOY “BOB” AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO SEE WITH HIS OWN EYES
THE FACE OF HIS MOTHER ELLA AND HIS FATHER JAMES
AND THE COLOURS OF THE MOUNTAINS
AND THE SNOW ON THE MOUNTAINS
AND THE COUNTRY OF PROPHECIES.
BLESS THIS CHILD AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO HEAR WITH HIS OWN EARS
THE SOUND OF HIS NAME
THE TRUTH OF THE WISE
THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE
AND THE WORD OF PROPHECIES.
BLESS THIS CHILD AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO REACH WITH HIS OWN HANDS
FOR THE HAND OF HIS FRIENDS
FOR MACHINES AND PLANS
FOR BREAD AND FOR GRAPES
AND FOR THE COUNTRY OF PROPHECIES.
BLESS THIS CHILD AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO TALK WITH HIS OWN LIPS
ABOUT PLEASURE AND SORROW
ABOUT QUESTIONS OF PEOPLE
ABOUT WOUNDS OF LIFE
AND ABOUT THE WORD OF PROPHECIES.
BLESS THIS CHILD AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO WALK WITH HIS OWN LEGS
ON THE STREETS OF EARTH
ON THE STRENUOUS STAIRS
ON THE WAYS OF PEACE
AND ON THE COUNTRY OF PROPHECIES.
BLESS THIS CHILD AND HELP US TO HELP HIM
SO HE CAN LEARN TO LOVE WITH HIS OWN HEART.

Fantastic pictures -
1 add 1 make 3
it's all there for us to see
there'll be time anon for fun and jest
when you've all had a bit of rest
In the meantime who will he be?
In your dreams you might see
St Augustine
then Bob's yer uncle
and Dorothy's your niece
ye have a name
fit for a Preece:D
Otherwise
get out your rosary and pray to St Bede
He'll put you straight on everything you need
Plymouth is a font of info and Bob says it all

Should have included St Philip Neri
between the venerable and the august
specially as he links to the B3 theory
to consider him too is surely a must
