Christians banned from fostering children...

Blogged by James Preece 1 Year ago...

Refusing to say that gay lifestyles are 'acceptable' now apparently makes you unsuitable to foster children.

Fortunately it's only that kind of Christian. Other kinds of Christian are still allowed so this definitely isn't about Christianity at all and it's totally reasonable for our Bishops to remain silent about this kind of thing because let's face it, ignoring Catholic teaching is 100% compatible with being a Catholic.

Catholics who choose to believe the unpopular bits about Catholicism are really just choosing to have an optional extra bit - probably because they enjoy hating everybody. Those kinds of people deserve whatever they get.

Right?

Update: Oh look. Archbishop Vincent Nichols has something to say about the rights of the very small minority of Catholics who might have become members of the Royal family but find themselves excluded yet he doesn't have anything to say about the thousands of Catholics who might have become foster parents but can't because they accept the Church's teaching on homosexuality.

You blind guides, you strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

enCourage: Real support for homosexual Catholics

Blogged by James Preece 2 Years ago...

enCourage is a spiritual support group for homosexuals wishing to live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

The Five Goals of EnCOURAGE

1 - Live chaste lives in accordance with the Catholic Church's teaching on homosexuality. (Chastity)

2 - Dedicate ones life to Christ through service to others, spiritual reading, prayer, meditation, individual spiritual direction, frequent attendance at Mass, and the frequent reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. (Prayer and Dedication)

3 - Foster a spirit of fellowship in which all may share thoughts and experiences, and so ensure that no one will have to face the problems of homosexuality alone. (Fellowship)

4 - Be mindful of the truth that chaste friendships are not only possible but necessary in a chaste Christian life and in doing so provide encouragement to one another in forming and sustaining them. (Support)

5 - Live lives that may serve as good examples to others. (Good Example/Role Model)

enCourage meetings are back on in the London area for enCourage members (and those interested) who live in the south of England. enCourage don't make the location of their meetings public so if you want to go along send an email to encouragelondon@yahoo.co.uk ideally including a contact number so they can get back to you.

You are even more encouraged to attend if your practice and/or lifestyle are a million miles away from the five goals listed above. enCourage is much more a hospital for sinners than a hotel for saints.

UK Homosexual couple spend £100,000 on designer baby...

I'm really not sure what I can say about this that won't subsequently be used against me in a hate crimes tribunal so I'm going to keep my mouth shut.

"because obviously we haven't got a womb or anything"

"we're not harming anybody" - except the thousands of embryos created during the IVF process that will be killed simply for being female or having the wrong eye colour.

"we're not the norm people" - except if I said that it would be a hate crime.

Perhaps there are some Catholic Bishops with something to say about this? Bishop Drainey? Archbishop Nichols? Zzzzzzz.
