I just wanted to share this spectacular graph...

Wow.
Another great side effect of house prices falling, is that it makes it less worthwhile to close a parish church and sell it to developers.
House Prices

Ella and I have been pretty house price sceptic for a while now. People keep saying 'you poor dears still renting' and we used to say 'we are waiting for the house prices to crash' and people used to look at use like we just said 'we are waiting for the tooth fairy'.

Ninety-five!
The average UK house price has been falling £45 a day since the beginning of the year, research revealed yesterday.

The people I feel bad for, are all those young people who bought a house in the last couple of years. It's no crime to want to start a family and get on with your life. I hope and pray that things work out okay for those people.
But basically, all you stuck up snobs who were deeply offended when we dared to suggest that your two bed terrace in Hull wasn't worth £800 a month for the rest of my life and who still have their 'investment' on the market.
Game Over.

Buying is dead money...
According to the Halifax, house prices fell 2.4% in May.
All the houses around us, the ones with luxuries (we are spoiled brats after all) like windows and floors, cost about £125k for your basic 3 bed terrace. This is Hull after all. Down south they are going for more.
By not buying a £125k house last month, we saved ourselves nearly £3000. Oh sure... we had to pay rent. But we don't pay £3000 in rent! Even if we paid £1000 a month in rent... and we don't... we saved £2000 last month.
Next month, we will save more...

This is not grim news. This is great news.
